GLAUCOMA TREATMENT SURGERIES - PATIENT INFORMATION
The surgery to be performed at the Ophthalmology Clinic of the Postgraduate Medical Education Centre is based on removal from the eye of the opaque lens and then implanting an artificial lens in its place.
After the surgery, the patients are usually discharged on the same day in the evening, in some cases, when necessary – on the following day. The decision to discharge is made by the supervising doctor or the doctor on duty at the Clinic.
After the surgery, the patient is to attend a check-up visit at the Consultation Facility of the Clinic (room 8 at the Clinic, Block C) – the date and time of the visit are entered into the discharge document, as well as the prescribed drugs dosage. Please follow the recommendations with regard to the frequency of drug administration.
Within the first month after the surgery, it is necessary to avoid physical effort, lifting of objects weighing more than 1 kg and activities that require lowering your head. You cannot rub the eye or sleep on this side.
